Joe’s Real BBQ now serving breakfast
Joe’s Real BBQ at 301 N. Gilbert Road has added breakfast to its traditional lunch and dinner service on weekends.
According to a Joe’s BBQ spokesman, the breakfast menu incorporates smoked meats and is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The spokesman said a highlight of the breakfast menu is Joe’s Mother “Lode” Burrito, with house sausage gravy and stuffed with eggs, cheese, and brisket hash.
Other breakfast items include breakfast plates with meats and homemade side dishes, homemade biscuits with the sausage gravy plate and Downtown Baked Eggs. There is a child’s breakfast that includes a beverage.
Manager Janae Martin said adding the new weekend breakfast meant “we hired a few people, and some of us are working a little longer hours.”
She also noted a restaurant truth that breakfast tends to be “a pretty profitable” meal, though with Joe’s offering more than the traditional menu, it isn’t the same as restaurants with a more limited fare.
Joe’s Real BBQ opened in January 1998 and on the first day served more than 1,000 customers.
